In Memoriam
Flick Rea

Alderman Flick Rea was a local hero, a resident of this community for 60 years and its councillor for 35 of them. Flick helped start or run most of our local "Friends of…" groups, and will always be remembered for tireless advocacy and a passion for preserving our historic local landscape. A beloved councillor, friend and champion of Fortune Green, Flick recently passed away and is sorely missed.

To celebrate Flick's life and dedication to our community, the Friends of Fortune Green, West Hampstead Amenity and Transport and Camden Council are raising £3,000 for a memorial bench and commemorative plaque in one of Flick's favourite spots on the Green.

Please help us reach our target by donating online, and help ensure that Flick's life and achievements are truly remembered by our community.

Thank you to Fahzan Ahmad of Free Film Festivals (FFF), Neil Mitra (L) and Ben Kammerling (R), volunteers with FFF who helped set up the screen and projector for the open-air film night on 22nd August 2026. Mike Jennings (FoFG) volunteered in the tabard (extreme L).

We are very grateful to our community and sponsors whose generosity helps us preserve and enhance
Fortune Green for everyone to enjoy.Â
We are especially grateful to report that an anonymous donor made a generous contribution of £100 towards the Tree Walk 2026 (held on 26 April 2026), which helped to cover approximately one third of the total cost of the event. This was greatly appreciated by the Committee and helped make a meaningful difference to the finances of the day.
Thank you, whoever you are.
